A Simple Skincare Routine for Babies with Atopic Dermatitis
Babies with atopic dermatitis lose moisture from their skin very quickly, especially after bathing. Because the skin barrier is already weakened, dryness can worsen itching and irritation. After bathing, apply moisturizer immediately to the entire body. This helps retain the moisture that is still present in the skin and supports the skin barrier. Once the moisturizer has absorbed into the skin, apply the prescribed ointment to the affected areas. In this routine, moisture comes first and treatment follows. As the skin barrier improves and dryness decreases, symptoms often calm down over... Read more...
Warm Showers and Atopic Dermatitis: Hydration Matters More Than Temperature
When it comes to showering with atopic dermatitis, you may have heard advice from experts and the media like: “Use lukewarm water, keep showers short, and don’t shower too often.” As someone who has lived with atopic dermatitis, I used to follow this advice. However, I personally enjoy warm water showers every day, and I like to stay in the shower a bit longer than recommended. I also enjoy baths in comfortably warm water, especially in winter, because lukewarm showers can make me feel cold. So, was I doing it... Read more...
What “Minimum Formula” Means
Everybody’s body reacts differently to various substances. Some reactions are antigen-specific, while others occur simply because your skin is very sensitive to certain ingredients. Since there are countless materials in the world, no one can predict exactly which ingredients your body will react to. I started from this point because no matter which facial lotion I tried, I still felt a stinging sensation, and redness on my skin never fully disappeared. When I looked closely at cosmetic ingredient lists, I realized that many products contained dozens of ingredients. It’s impossible... Read more...
How Moisturizing Can Help Reduce Itching in Atopic Dermatitis
Itching can be overwhelming. I’ve lived with atopic dermatitis my entire life, and during flare-ups, the itching can feel almost impossible to control. When symptoms become severe, dermatologists often prescribe topical steroid creams. And yes — they work. Steroids can quickly calm inflammation and reduce redness. But for many people, the relief is temporary. Long-term use can come with side effects, and over time, some people become concerned about dependency. Because there is still no complete cure for atopic dermatitis, I began focusing on what we can control: maintaining a... Read more...
Best Moisturizing with the Set
While each of our products has exceptional moisturizing power, using just one of them may not be enough, because each plays a different role.  Right after cleansing your face, your skin can lose moisture very quickly. That’s why it’s important to hydrate your skin before applying a moisturizer. You need “water” first to lock in hydration. That’s the role of our del mar toner, which is enriched with pure water and organic vegetable glycerin. It delivers hydration to the skin and temporarily holds it in place while you apply the... Our Story
I was born with allergies and have struggled with eczema (atopic dermatitis) for as long as I can remember. Growing up, dermatology clinics were a constant part of my life—topical steroids, oral medications, and occasional injections. Like many people with sensitive skin, I spent years searching for a moisturizer that could calm my flaking, itching skin and prevent flare-ups. I am a Ph.D.-trained molecular biologist and pharmacologist. I earned my doctorate at Seoul National University and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Chicago and UCLA. My scientific career has... Read more...
